What may be a shunter's or linesman's hut is situated about 10m S of Brewer's Bush Bridge carrying the B704 road over The Waverley Line. The hut stands on the E side of the former railway line at a point immediately S of what was the junction between the colliery sidings and the main line.

The hut is flat roofed and constructed in pre-cast concrete, measuring about 6m by 2m overall. The roof has had a waterproof surface stuck to it.

The hut is not depicted on any of the historical OS 25-inch scale maps (1856-1925), though the later maps show a hut on the W side of the main line. It is reasonable to assume that the hut has been built in the post-1945 period and is possibly connected with the modernisation of Lady Victoria Colliery.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), August 2006.
