This limekiln, which is situated at the foot of a steep S-facing slope 140m S of Croftmaquien farmsteading (NJ02SW 69), has been reduced to little more than a grass-grown hollow, heavily overgrown with bracken on the date of visit. The kiln is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet XLVIA; 1902, sheet XLVIA); on the latter it is annotated 'Old Limekiln'
