Corry by Broadford, 6th Dec. The JANE & MARY (schr.), of and from Aberystwith, for Letterkenny, was wrecked near this place yesterday morning: crew saved: vessel in a dangerous position. Every effort is being made to save vessel and cargo.

Kyleakin, Skye, 11th Dec. The JANE & MARY, Lloyd, of and from Aberystwith [Aberystwyth], for Letterkenny, which drove ashore near this place on the 5th Dec., has received considerable damage to keel and bilges.

Isle Ornsay, 10th Dec. About 7 tons of bark, besides sails and ropes, have been saved form the JANE & MARY, Lloyd, from Aberystwith to Letterkenny, which drove ashore 5th Dec., at Skye, and boatmen are employed in saving as much more as they can get out free of damage, and also ship's material.

Greenock, 18th Dec. The BEATRIX (schooner), of Leith, in endeavouring to assist the JANE & MARY, stranded on the rocks near Isle Ornsay lighthouse, went ashore there herself, but was got off with little damage.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Isle Ornsay lighthouse (NG71SW 8.00) is at NG 71350 12183, on Eilean an Eoin, off the SE corner of Ornsay.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
