Glasgow, 4th Feb. The THISTLE (sloop), of Inverness, from Liverpool to Stirling, with salt, in working out of Small Isles Bay, 1st Feb., missed stays, and was totally wrecked on Goat Island: crew saved.

Registration: Inverness. Built 1827. 47grt. Length: 16m. Beam: 5m.

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. Goat Island is not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map.
