Loch Katrine scheme, Ballat, 1855 junction chamber (Muylle Id = 350): This concrete-roofed, sub-terranean junction chamber provides access to both the 1855 and the 1885 aqueducts and the short junction channel that connects both aqueducts and can be used for re-routing the water flow. To allow daylight to shine into this junction chamber, three glass mosaic rooflights have been installed above the 1855 portion of the chamber. The access steps and railings are original.

Information from Jelle Muylle, engineer carrying out a survey of aqueducts and related structures of the Glasgow

Corporation Loch Katrine Waterworks Scheme, 2006.
