'...70-72 Wallace Street built 1899-1900 for the Scottish Tube co., J M Monroe, architect (£3000). A single-storey 5 bay red brick workshop [or warehouse] with a large arched doorway. The glazed doorway has a fine wrought-iron grille to protect it. Adjacent to the west is a three storey , 3 bay office block in similar style'.

J R Hume, 1974

This set of buildings is now in multiple use as warehouses and retailing outlets. The office block appears to have been converted to dwellings on its upper floors. The wrought iron grille and the fanlight glazing it protected is obscured by a hoarding.

Information from RCAHMS (MMD), 9 November 2006.
