Situated about half way at the point where the pier takes a dog-leg (NT17NW 181.07), is the Loop Shed. Brick built with the entrance at the S end, windows in both E and W elevations. Probably built in the 1960s.

Internally now used as a general workshop, but formerly as shed to wind the minesweeping steel coils. Two circular marks in the concrete floor denote the former positions of the rewinding drums to allow repair to the sweeping cables.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE, EL), 12 September 2006
