Section running from just S of Bowland Bridge and station (NT44SE 28.08 and NT44SE 33) to Galashiels. Included in this section are several bridges over the Gala Water, a large viaduct and a short tunnel at Torwoodlee. Two bridges over the Gala Water have been removed (NT43NE 100.08 and NT43NE 100.12) and the remains of theformer junction with the Peebles Branch at Kilnknowe can still be traced. The section also includes the site of Galashiels Station (NT43NE 100.21).

The railway and its features are depicted on the Revision Edition of the OS 25-inch map (Selkirkshire, 1915, sheet), which shows that at that date Galashiels Station still retained an overall roof.
