This site was recorded during archaeological fieldwork and a desktop survey ahead of a proposed water mains renewal programme in the area. A rectangular roofed building is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps of the 1870s and 1906 respectively. The buuilding is marked as 'Poorhouse' on the 2nd edition map. It is not present on the latest map. A walkover of the site revealed no trace of the building, although the area had already been excavated for the pipeline. Only a small area of small stones, possibly a clearance cairn as the stones were too small to be building rubble, was recorded.
