This site was studied as part of a large survey of industries in the area and how they are considered in light of a developing community and landscape. Survey work, including a desk-top survey, geophysical investigation and excavation was carried out in the area. This site was identified on the OS 1st edition map and Thompson and Williamson's Map of 1828. This included a large building, a possible house, terraced ground, open pits, bings and tracks. The remains of the pits, buildings and a lime kiln were located, along with a possible winding engine and tracks.
