NB46SE 55 centred on 4977 6300

What may be a length of head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 3), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992).

Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 22 January 2002

This possible head-dyke, running from NW-SE, is depicted on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992), and forms the eastern boundary to a series of rectangular enclosures (NB46SE 48). The alignment running from NE-SW at the NW end of the dyke on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1853, sheet 3) actually forms the northern bank to two of the rectangular enclosures.

Information from RCAHMS (SMDG) 2 February 2005
