A watching brief was carried out in the farmyard of Easter Lilliesleaf Farm, ahead of a proposed 3-build housing development. The site occupies the site of a former steading, which is marked on the 1st and 2nd OS maps of the area. A gable of the old steading has survived, along with parts of the foundations walls. The steading walls were found to be 0.5m thick and built from locally-sourced sandstone rubble. Part of a floor surface was found, which was thought to be that of the steading. In addition, an internal wall (of the steading) was also discovered. No other archaeological features were discovered.
