NX36SW 78 34271 62976

For predecessor Shenanton road bridges (upstream), see NX36SW 14 and NX36SW 28.

For predecessor railway bridge, see NX36SW 77.

This bridge carries the latest and present line of the A75(T) public road over the River Bladnoch, which here forms the boundary between the parishes of Kirkcowan (to the W) and Penninghame (to the E).

The location assigned to this structure defines the midpoint of the structure, which occupies the location of the former railway bridge NX36SW 77. It is uncertain whether or not it incorporates any elements of the earlier structure.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 15 March 2006.
