The former YMCA for miltyary personnel is a large single storey building situated on the E side of the main A77 road, N of the Several Burn.

Constructed of brick and concrete and on raised foundations, it is now been converted into a hotel.

Directly opposite is one of the few remaining station platforms on the Cairnryan Military Railway.

The building is visible on a vertical air photograph (106G/Scot/UK 987, 3139, flown 9 November 1945).
