North Ronaldshay [Ronaldsay], 13th March. 'The IDA, Schauer: the HENRIETTA WILHEMINA, Thurlow: and the NEPTUNUS, Bradenhall, all from Dantzig [Gdansk] to Liverpool, were totally wrecked on this island 11th instant. Crews saved: cargoes expected to be saved in a damaged state.'

Neither of the places cited by Whittaker can be specifically identified from the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map. The farm of Bewan is at HY 788 555 and the wreck can be generally said to have been located somewhere on Dennis Ness [name centred HY 782 557].
