Lochinver [name: NC 093 225]

Soyea Island [name centred NC 048 220].

(Classified as wooden lugger, in ballast; date of loss cited as 2 October 1905). Princess of Thule: this vessel stranded at Glas Leac Island, Locinver [Lochinver]. Capt. Nicolson.

Not registered. Built 1900. 35 tons [unspecified].

(Location of loss cited as N58 8.5 W5 16.00.

I G Whittaker 1998.

The name and location assigned to this record are derived from the location cited by Larn and Larn. Larn and Larn place the loss on Glas Leach Island, and Whittaker on Glas Leac Island, in both cases at Lochinver. This island is not noted on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but is probably to be equated with Soyea Island, at the mouth of Loch Inver.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 3 September 2002.
