This lock, constructed between 1930 and 1932, replaced the original sea-lock (NR79SE 48.01). Built parallel to the original, it has improved tidal access.

This lock is clearly visible on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1979) and on the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND).
