A barrage balloon mooring site identified from a wartime RAF oblique air photograph (No.1 CAM oblique, x902, flown 21 October 1941) was situated in what is now the playground of Toryglen School. The balloon mooring site was located adjacent to the Heavy anti-aircraft battery to the E (NS66SW 114) the site being removed on the construction of the school.
