A type 27 pillbox has been identified from a RAF wartime vertical air photograph (NLA 71 540, 4003-4, flown 9 September 1943) on the SW side of what was the airfield perimeter now approoximately at the NE end of Tinto Drive. The pillbox was presumably removed during the redevelopment of the area.
