Cardoness Swing Bridge has now been dismantled. It is depicted on the Ordnance Survey 2nd Edition map (Kirkcudbrightshire, sheet XLVIII.9, 1908).

This bridge over the canal, marked as Draw Bridge, is clearly shown on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Kirkcudbrightshire 1854, sheet 43) and the site is still traceable on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1993).
