This basin is visible on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1900, sheet clx.NW), whereas there appears to be marshy ground on the site on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1873, sheet clx). On the 2nd edition map there is an old quarry marked nearby. The basin appears to have disappeared, according to the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1989) and the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND).
