NH 546 487 An archaeological evaluation was conducted on the site of a proposed waste water treatment works and access road upgrading at Bellvue Steading near Muir of Ord. Desk study and field inspection revealed no sites of interest within the treatment works site. Geophysical survey located two anomalies of potential archaeological interest. Both were trenched and found to correspond to buried features. Including these, trial trenching identified only three isolated features of potential archaeological interest: a possible cultivation furrow or drainage feature; a large pit; and a drainage or field boundary ditch. No artefacts were recovered by which these features could be dated. The results indicated that the overall potential of the site was low.

A report has been lodged with the NMRS and Highland SMR.
