The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet xcii) depicts a disused gold mine on the NW slopes of Meall Nan Uamh about 500m NE of the present Leitters farmsteading. At least two roofed buildings are shown, standing in what appears to be a small C-shaped quarry.
