This basin, just to the E of the Craigmarloch Drawbridge, is now overgrown with weeds. It acted as the terminus from Victorian times for canal cruises from Port Dundas in Glasgow.

H Brown 1997.

This basin is clearly marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Dunbartonshire 1864-5, sheet xixA) and is visible, covered in reeds, on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1990).

Information from RCAHMS (MD) 10 October 2000.
