Also known as Gardener's Bridge, it was situated about 50m SE of the memorial to the Battle of Prestonpans.
Depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Haddingtonshire, 1854, sheet 9), the bridge is annotated as 'Gardener's Bridge' after Colonel Gardener who fought at the Battle.
The bridge was demolished during improvements to the main Edinburgh to London main railway line.
The Object Name Book of the Ordnance Survey (ONB) describes the bridge as ' A stone built bridge of one arch over the North British Railway. It was built and is kept in repair by the Railway Company. It was near this place where Colonel Gardener received his fatal wounds at the Battle of Prestonpans' (ONB 1853).
