NX13SW 74.01 NX 12794 31945 West Cairngaan Cottage

(Location cited as NX 1285 3190). A farmstead comprising two unroofed buildings, one partially roofed long building, which is annotated Ruins and has an attached roofed horse-gang, three roofed buildings, two of which are T-shaped, and three enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Wigtonshire 1850, sheet 36). The modern farmstead of West Cairngaan is shown at this location on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1984).
