This tree-grown quarry is situated about 30m NW of the NW corner of the walled garden at Leith Hall, and lies on the N side of the farm track that links the B9002 public road with the steading of the Home Farm (NJ53SW 24). The quarry has been dug up to 2m in depth into a S-facing slope and its entrance is on the S; it measures about 20m from N to S by 10m transversely.

The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire, 1870, sheet xliii and 1901, sheet xliii.NW respectively).

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS), 23 June 1999.
