This spillway is just to the W of an old stop lock (NS77NE 97) with a slipway incorporated into it.

This spillway or sluice is situated just to the W of the Wyndford Stop Lock (NS77NE 97), which is again just W of Lock 20, known as the Wyndford Lock (NS77NE 71).

This sluice is clearly marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Dunbartonshire 1864, sheet xx) and is also visible on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1988).
