The former maintenance works, stables and offices which constituted Tophill Depot were beside Lock 10 (NS88SE 156). The only extant remains are joist holes visible in the existing boundary wall.

The Canal Company's Depot, Tophill Depot, was situated to the E of Lock 10 (NS88SE 156). It included a carpenter's shop and boat building yard. In the early days of the canal many boats were constructed here and in the 1820s it was adapted to build iron boats. Later, steam power experiments were conducted here.

The maintenance works, stables, offices and othere associated buildings which comprised Tophill Depot, situated at Lock 10 (NS88SE 156), have now disappeared.
