Sites recorded as part of a desk-based assessment and field inspection conducted in connection with an environmental assessment for proposed works on power lines between Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy.

Eight coal pits are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Fife and Kinross 1856, sheet 31) in association with a refuse heap and three roofed structures which are annotated as engine houses. They are not shown on the current chart copy of the OS 1: 10000 map (1990).
