Clyan's Dam is a large artificial pond situated on the Pitmunie Burn immediately N of Dameye farmsteading (NJ61NE 81). The water is retained on the NE by an earthen dam measuring at least 70m in length by 4m in thickness across the top and about 5m in height. At the N end of the dam there is a weir, which allows water to flow through Clyan's Wood by way of the Gullie Burn; a sluice on the SE side of the pond allows water to flow towards the Todlachie Burn, some 300m to the S.
Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, IF), 22 October 1996.
