Cropmarks recorded on oblique aerial photographs (CUCAP 1960) reveal a scatter of pits and linear features on the E side of a ridge to the W of the Altquhur Burn. The pits vary considerably in size and of the larger ones there is at least one which may be subrectangular, measuring up to 8m by 4m across, and may mark the location of a sunken-floored building (NS 4851 8775). The linear cropmarks along the W side of the field may be old field boundaries or field drains.
