The rock-cut adit of this copper mine runs into the hillside at the back of a terrace on the W flank of Loss Hill. The entrance to the mine is about 1.2m across and 1m in height and the passage dips as it enters the hill, becoming water-filled after about 5m. The line of the mine to the SE is marked by collapse hollows extending for about 40m, but the full extent of the underground workings was not ascertained. A spoil heap outside the mine contains small fragments of ore bearing rock. There is a hollow to the NNW of the adit, from which a trench has been cut running to the WSW. This mine is presumably related to the workings to the SE (NS 89 NW 56.08) and a small trial to the S (NS 89 NW 56.10).
There is some evidence for a scheme which might have encompassed Loss in the 1720s, but most of the work at Loss took place between 1761 and 1763 (information from John Harrison, see also NS 89 NW 56.08).
