The original Inverernan House dates from about 1764, but the present E elevation, with its red granite ashlar front and cherry-cocking, is by G Bennet Mitchell (1935) and is a near reproduction of the facade at Bellabeg House (NJ31SE 109) which dates to 1765.

The house is now used as a private house and art gallery.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS) 10 March 1998.

I Shepherd 1994.
