Nothing is now visible of these gasworks, which stood in wooded policies some 570m SE of Skene House (NJ70NE 19.00). The gasworks are depicted roofed on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire, 1869, sheet lxxviii; 1901, sheet lxxviii.NE). Both maps depict a gasometer at the SW end of an L-shaped range with its open side facing NW. The earlier map also shows two other buildings lying immediately to the S.
