The cropmarks of at least two lengths of war period practice trenches have been identified from an oblique aerial photograph (CUCAP GO 0080, flown 13 July 1951), on Sparrow Muir about 600m SE of Scone Palace (NO12NW 9.00). The two lengths of trench are of different type, one with well formed square angles, the other takes a meandering course across the field.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), March 2009.
