Not to be confused with Tongue, Ferry Pier (NC 5809 5849), for which see NC55NE 26. For adjacent boathouse, see NC55NE 28.

(Location cited as NC 592 588). Pier, Tongue, probably early 20th century. A substantial masonry pier with an angled head.

J R Hume 1977.

At about 37m and 66m respectively along the pier are stone steps to high and low water levels, both with iron hand-rails. Secondary pier at SE (shore) end is of much later construction having iron rails set in concrete.
