Originally built for Queen Victoria's servant, John Brown.

Two-storeyed house with projecting gables. Tyrolean style. Built for John Brown (d.1883), Queen Victoria's servant. Probably designed by William Smith, but completed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson.

This site was recorded as part of the Listed Buildings Recording Programme (LBRP) for 2001-02.
