A sheepfold is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, (Caithness, 1876, sheet vi), approximately 130m SW of the summit of Couper Hill. The OS have given the sheepfold a location which is not quite compatible to that plotted from the 1st edition (ibid), which would lie at ND 2314 7099. The sheepfold is shown on the 1st edition as having additional walls to the NW and a single extension wall to the S. This structure is no longer depicted on the latest edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1976).
