(Name cited as Pitcaple). Air photography (CUCAP BHB 58, flown 1 August 1971) has recorded two linear cropmarks on a gentle slope at an altitude of 75m OD. One of them runs E-W and the other NE-SW.

NMRS, MS/712/69.

Oblique aerial photography (CUCAP: BHB 58) has recorded the cropmarks of two broad ditches in a cultivated field immediately E of Whiteford village. The northerly of the two runs E and W from the W edge of the field, parallel and about 50m S of the N edge of the field. The ditch is lost in a dark patch in the crop immediately NW of an earthwork, NJ72NW29. The southerly ditch, which lies up to 160m S of the first, runs from the W side of the field in an ENE and WSW direction, and terminates on the left (N) bank of the Urie Water.
