(Name cited as Marine Operations Centre). This building is intended to be an iconic landmark, and has been designed around the style of a traditional lighthouse. It is situated at the inward end of the North Pier to allow the Vessel Traffic Services staff visibility over all three arms of the harbour, as well as the entrance. Built at a cost of £4.5 million, it entered service in 2006, succeeding the 'Roundhouse'.
