This milestone, situated on the N bank of the Union Canal is set diagonally to the canal; it has a pyramidal top and inscribed numerals 26 and 5 on its SW and SE faces (providing mileages from the Camelon and Edinburgh termini, respectively). (cf NS97NE 62.04)

This milestone is clearly marked on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1989) but is not shown on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Edinburghshire 1853, sheet 5) or on the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND).
