NH 922 550 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in January 2002 to investigate an alleged souterrain on the site of a proposed housing development. A limited number of features were recorded, dispersed over the western half of the study area. These included a large curvilinear pit (the alleged souterrain), two small industrial pits, a small charcoal-filled pit, and rig and furrow cultivation remnants. A number of anomalies were also recorded by geophysical survey of cropmarks across the eastern side of the site, but no trace of these could be identified in the field by excavation. (AOC 3236)
