What may be a palisaded enclosure has been recorded in parched grassland on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 2003). It is situated on a low rise above the shoreline to the WSW of Portnuachtry on the W side of Loch Ryan. The lines of what may be two palisade trenches, lying about 2m to 3m apart, are visible as green grass against parched surroundings on the NE side of the knoll. The rest of the circuit is less well defined, but the enclosure may have been oval on plan.
