The Temple Bridge was designed by Sir William Arrol & Co. Ltd and T. Somers 1931-2. This electrically operated bascule bridge has a span of 55 feet and a width of 44 feet and abutments of mass concrete and sandstone. A model of brass and wood is held at the National Museum of Scotland (Science, Technology and Working Life Collections).
