A homestead, a building, and a scatter of small cairns are situated on a series of terraces in very broken ground towards the W edge of Sundaywell Moor and to the E of the semi-improved fields around Muttonhole. The cairns are situated on the terraces in the vicinity of the homestead, in particular to the W, and measure up to 5m in diameter and 0.4m in height. They commonly occupy dead ground at the backs or leading edges of terraces or at the bases of knolls, much of the flat ground seemingly relatively clear and smooth, presumably as a result of being cultivated.

The homestead (NX 7905 8451, Nith 44) is situated on a terrace and comprises an oval enclosure measuring about 20m from E to W by 16m transversely within a faced-rubble bank up to 3m in thickness and 1m in height. There are two entrances, on the E and W, both of which have large boulders around the bank terminals. The E entrance is marked by four large boulders and is choked with rubble. There is a suggestion that the inner face of the bank is faceted, or at least constructed in straight sections, in particular along the S side. The building (NX 7913 8457, Nith 45) lies some 90m to the NE of the enclosure and measures 7.7m from NW to SE by 2.4m transversely within stone footings 1m in thickness and 0.8m in height. There is an entrance in the NE side and a twinning pen in the S corner.
