A piece of carved marble, possibly a Roman weight, was found in the intertidal zone of the Firth of Forth near Dalmeny House. It is a brick-shaped block with two breast-like protuberances linked bya narrow handle. There were vague Hellenistic and early Roman parallels, but the mass does not correspond with known Roman weights. It is unclear if it is an ancient or relatively recent loss.
