Excavation in 1989 revealed a linear cobbled surface aligned N-S at the extreme SE corner of the field containing enclosure NX89NE 59. 'This feature is assumed to be part of the Roman road which lies in the field to the S, and which is approximately aligned on this part of the excavation site.'
