North Auchenbeg is depicted as roofed and with a well, on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Lanarkshire, 1860-4, sheet xxxvii). The Ordnance Survey Name Book describes these buildings as 'A thatched farmsteading one storey in tolerable repair. Property of J Alston Esq'. (ONB).
The current OS 1:10000 scale map (1980) shows the farmstead as unroofed.
