An area of small ridges, measuring about 300m from NNW to SSE by 150m, is situated within an area of open field. The ridges, which have the appearence of cultivation remains, are roughly 0.3m high and are made of stone and slag from the iron furnace rather than soil. The precise function of these 'ridges' is unclear although slag may have been spread out over the fields to cool.
